Hiya Instrom, What was the diameter of the fibre? Best wishes, Dom
How to download it for 3366 testing machine?
Hello Dear, If I have a flexible Pet layer with a varnish that can detach from the per, what test is better? Peel 90° or 180°?
how I can download
Best jack stands are milk crates. I work on my heavy car and they never let me down. Free is best
which peel test was best , 180 or 90 degree
Hi Muniyappan - It really depends on your application to determine which peel test(s) you should perform.
Did you use papers to hold the fiber?
Hi Mamadou - That's correct. In this instance, we used paper windows. Two pieces of rectangular paper are placed on top of each other and held together by a piece of double sided tape. The paper windows are also used to track the strain of the fibers. Given the material is quite small, the paper is used to provide larger surface to draw on dots that the AVE2/SVE2 video extensometers can track.
I'm curious to know how much compression it can withstand at the center of the grate when placed upside down. We have a few people at the warehouse who are insistent on using these things as stepstools, and we have had an incident in the past where someone put their foot through and had to be cut out. Anyone have any idea?
How to update BluehillMT software. I need version 3.23.4156
Hi Suhear - Instron no longer offers Bluehill 3 for any test system. I encourage you to contact your local Instron sales rep or submit a software upgrade request (link: www.instron.com/en-us/our-company/contact-us?mpid=)
Just like the construction of a house, the strength is in the load bearing walls. It is not in the center. In this case, the sides of the crate represent the load bearing wall. The center, like the house, is much weaker. The test should also find the exact weight that the walls begin to buckle. Continuing to crush the crate well after it's sides has buckled does not tell us how much the crate will hold, and still remain stout.
Nice and informative. May i know that for removing the compliance you initially inserted a specimen and later you rerun the test again. During this rerun test you used the same specimen ???
Hi Zain - The specimen used to preload and remove compliance from the load string will not be representative of the sample being testing. This preload specimen is often much stronger and can withstand maximum system forces.
Elongation is calculated as 80 % at the end of the test. I think it is not possible for this type of rebar. Also, specimen breaks very near to the jaw, means that test is not comply with the standard.
Hi Emre - You are correct, 80% elongation would be quite unusual. In this video, the crosshead displacement reached just over 18% of our specimen length; however, for accurate elongation-at-break measurement, the final length between the gauge marks of the fractured specimen must be measured. In accordance with latest editions of ASTM A370 and ISO 15630, both elongation and strength measurement may be considered valid even when failure occurs at or near the grips - if a passing result is achieved prior to failure.
Also I with megasa rebar you must be ready for outliers when testing
hi sir can i do DIC with normal camera
Now we've used humans to test this out!
So how many Newtons it took to break it?
tq so much for this vid
How different is the excecution of this test compared with ASTM D3330 Method F?
Hi Edgar - ASTM D3330 is used specifically to measure the peel adhesion of pressure-sensitive tape, while ASTM D6862 is used to measure the strength of an adhesive bond between a rigid adherend and a flexible adherend. However, in terms of execution the two are very similar and the fixture shown here can be used for testing to either standard.
I need one setting in my office Machine. In hand controller we assign number 1 button (balance load), number 2 (mark data). Number 3,4 buttons not use. I need to assign speed setting in that free buttons. Ex Number 3- 50mm/min Number 4-200mm/min Plz tell how to assingn& reply, thanks in advance
Hi Karthi - The Soft Key buttons in Bluehill Universal are used as shortcuts to actions such as load cell balance and return to crosshead to zero position. You cannot assign test control parameters to these buttons. We suggest using Choice Inputs to select preset testing speeds.
@@InstronOfficial thanks for ur reply. In my testing I am using 200 speed suddenly I want decrease the speed to 50. Sometimes material broken before I decrease the speed. That's why I'm asking u. In hand controller have that speed setting my testing will more accurate. Note. In My maching hand controller number 3, number 4 buttons are not use.
@@karthil3468 We cannot add speed changes to the soft keys; however, you can add your testing rate to the Operator Inputs section in your Workspace. This will allow you to change the speed on command, but you will need to do this in the software. For more help on this, I recommend contacting Technical Support for your region: www.instron.com/en/our-company/contact-us
Thats just impact, where is the compression?
Hi Grundlos - Thank you for your interest. This is only the impact part of the test.
I am also confuse.
nice
Hi, there If the saved file is different than the file on the paper that was print out, does that mean the first time I put in the file name was different than the second time I put in the file name? Because when I started the test, it asked for the number of a batch once I put in it and clicked “next” it asked for the same number again but in my case, I couldn’t find the file that was on the paper that was printed out. The file that was done at the same time (shown on the paper) has a different number when I tried to Retrieved it in the saved folder, so my question is, the first time I put in the file name and the second time I put in the file name the two names didn’t match is that correct?

Thank you for the informative video! Would you be able to direct me towards more detailed information on specimen alignment, preferably with a variety of approaches to this all important task?
Best in the world company always try to spread the best of their knowledge. This is so informative to understand the machine problems and how to solve it
My goal . A squat rack made of milk crates and 2 jack-stands . If he dies he dies ....
Lol thats how i ended up here did you try this and how did it work out please let me no
That's how I ended up here. it should work because I know thieves do this to steal tires.
Great session and thanks much!☺️
Great stuff! Question: could the alignment issue be resolved with using spherical bearing at both ends of a tensile test, thus treating the force train as a two force member?
what kind of plastic is?
can you suggest me the speed rate and support span when specimen size 4 inch by 1 inch and specimen thickness 0.1010..specimen type fiberglass.
i needed this machin for my compuny.Sent me detiles

Thanks for sharing! I was wondering if you could upload a playlist of videos for each calculation option in the Instron. There is a manual guide on your website, but being able to see you guys do may also be really helpful.
thanks for sharing!
awesome video! at what stress level did the catheter break at?
What is the thickness of this specimen?
ASTM D3039 recommends a specimen thickness of 1 mm for 0° unidirectional (UD) and 2 mm for 90° UD tensile tests. For multidirectional laminates or for laminates with randomly discontinuous fiber orientation, the recommended thickness is 2.5 mm

And it could be way more resistant if the point of contact/pressure was evenly distributed on both sides. In the experiment the pressure point is very small on top and bottom

This is per ASTM D6862.
